Elenar Estate's Nettle
Our nettle is the true European healing variety Urtica Dioica, organically grown on the Kapiti Coast and naturally dried
Nettle is rich in vitamins A and C, iron, potassium, manganese, calcium and formic acid. The formic acid constituent is good for arthritic pain and is one of the reasons for it's inclusion in Golden Glow
It also contains riboflavin (vitamin B2), pantothenic acid, vitamin K1 and valuable omega-3 acids
Nettle is a galactagogue, meaning it promotes lactation, hence it's use during and after pregnancy
Soaking nettle in water or cooking it removes it's sting
"Tender-handed, stroke a nettle,
And it stings you for your pains.
Grasp it like a man of mettle,
And it soft as silk remains." (Old English rhyme)
