FEAR

I don’t want you to be close

I don’t want you to be near

All I know is I’m supposed

To live my life in fear

I might be quite verbose

But even I can hear

Whispers from the Poet

And as said by King Lear:

“The weight of this sad time we must obey,
Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say.
The oldest hath borne most: we that are young
Shall never see so much, nor live so long.”

So if I hold you close

If I ask you to be near

Will you leave your post

Will you lose your fear

Will you be like the king

As told of in Shakespeare

Or will you help to sing

A song that sets us free
